This one day, in-person course presents practical guidance on key aspects of preliminary scheme development and detailed scheme design in structural stone. Learning Outcomes By the end of the course, you should be able to: - Describe the structural characteristics of stone and understand how to verify its suitability - List and interpret the advantages and limitations of using stone as a structural product - Identify where and how stone may be used appropriately within a building structure - Have an overview of the design process of plain, reinforced and post-tensioned stone structures - Know of the standards supporting the use of stone - Understand and complete design examples for various applications - Know where to find relevant information to support your future designs
