142 Bermondsey Street.

The client, a beloved local figure with deep roots in the community, has lived at 142 Bermondsey Street for over 20 years. She commissioned the project to breathe new life into the crumbling building that she loved. The new build extensions were erected in under two weeks through the use of Cross Laminated Timber (CLT). The approach minimised the programme and the requirement for road closure on the tight urban site. The approach reduced the requirement for archaeological investigations on a sensitive medieval site, allowing the reuse of existing foundations. The CLT acts structurally, thermally and internally as a durable finished product. This project was completed by Scott whilst working at Webb Yates Engineers Photography: Agnese Sanvito Architect: Hampson Williams
